  • Greetings and salutations. Welcoming participants to the conference, especially to the distinguished guest - wife of Deputy PM, and who is VP of BAKTI
  • 5 people - sent to Iraq - 2001 - during the sanctions period - to investigate the conditions of the hospitals, schools, and verify what we see in media. One of them - von Sponeck - became a good friend. Cannot bring lead pencils to children - instructions from NY
  • Gave fruit baskets - but the Iraqi children - sold the fruits baskets to buy other necessities. Heart rending situation - but the spirit of Iraqis were high
  • Report went to the cabinet - discussed and realized something has to be done - BAKTI and I went to Tokyo and Hiroshima - discuss about the role of Women - with the Jap Peace movement leader - Mrs. Hashimoto - visited the monument of Malaysian students died in the a-bomb. One survived, others died in Hiroshima and Kyoto (after evacuation)
  • How could people do this to mankind? Wept when visit the Hiroshima memorial
  • Thank you for coming, and bring these messages to the others - we all together can work towards peace
Introduced the speaker - will talk about his experience, he is now the president - association of victims of American occupation prisons of the war victims in Iraq. Help to tell the stories of the victims - so that we will learn how to stop these evil actions Elaborated - what war does to human beings. People who protest, against the invasion - are killed/jailed - if they oppose - crimes of war - extend to the homes and mosques - of the victims
