Dato' Dr. Michael O.K. Yeoh
is Founder, Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer since 1993, of the Asian Strategy & Leadership Institute (ASLI), Malaysia's leading private sector Think Tank and foremost conference organiser. He established the Centre for Public Policy Studies in ASLI to undertake public policy research. He is also a Trustee and Chief Executive Officer of the World Islamic Economic Forum Foundation and Secretary-General of the ASEAN Business Forum, the Malaysia-China Business Council and the Corporate Malaysia Roundtable.

In 2004, he was appointed by Prime Minister Dato Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to be a member of the Royal Commission on Police. In 2006, he was appointed a Commissioner on Malaysia's Human Rights Commission (SUHAKAM). In 2005, he was first appointed by the Prime Minister to the National Unity Advisory Panel and in 2007 was re-appointed to a 2nd term in the Panel. He was also a member of the 1st and 2nd National Economic Consultative Council. He is also recently appointed to the Board of Trustees of the National Unity Foundation.

He has extensive Boardroom and Consulting experience over the past 30 years. Specialising in Corporate Strategic Planning, Asian Leadership Strategies and Political Economy. He has consulted for the World Bank, UNIDO, the Nomura Research Institute and the Economist Intelligence Unit. He has also sat on the Boards of Directors of the National Heart Institute, the Star newspaper, Sunway College, SBB Asset Management (a subsidiary of Southern Bank and Malaysia's second largest fund management company managing over RM5 billion). He had been a Principal Adviser to Southern Bank, General Manager of Multi-Purpose Holdings and Chief Administrative Director of the Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA).

Au author of several books on Vision and Leadership and Business Strategies, he is also a sought-after speaker. He has addressed the Asia Society New York, the World Economic Forum, Wilton Park UK, Monash-Asia Institute and the Lowy Institute Australia, the Confederation of Indian Industry, the China Development Institute, the US-Asean Business Council Washington DC, the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies Singapore and the Young Presidents Organization.

During his student days in Australia, he was President of the Monash University Malaysian Students Union. He was also Chairman of the Australia-New Zealand Graduates Association of Malaysia and Vice-President of the Malaysian Institute of Directors and Institute of Management Consultants.
